The Society of Insurance Research
Today's Practitioners Looking Into Tomorrow
The Society provides our Members a unique forum to be forward thinking and to learn and share at the cutting edge of developments in research and insurance.
Historically this has been accomplished principally through multi-day conferences, but the Society is investigating ways to deliver additional value to Members via meetings and classes in other formats, via the Internet, and by other means. Examples include the Fundamentals of Insurance program introduced in 2007, and the Personal Research Portal, and the Practitioner Academic Linking Site (PALS).
For over forty years, the Society of Insurance Research has served the insurance industry by providing high caliber forums for technical education, networking, and professional growth. Even as the Society expands and enriches its portfolio of programs and resources available to Members, the greatest value of SIR membership will remain the networking opportunities and relationships it makes possible with some of the keenest thinkers in the industry.
We are a family of hands-on practitioners from organizations that range from the giant international carriers, to single state and niche writers, to data and service providers of every size.
Come, join us!
Announcing the Practitioner Academic Linking Site (PALS)
This interactive site is designed to bring the research needs and data resources of SIR Members into contact with the research expertise and data needs of the academic world. In cooperation with the American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA), the site allows the membership of each organization to:
- Seek research partners or data;
- Find collaboration between insurance professionals and academic researchers, in a confidential environment;
- Conduct academic analysis at the industry level, through potential access to multiple carriers’ data;
- Provide insurance professionals with access to additional statistical, modeling and analysis support.
Click on PALS to start using the system.
